Stapleford (NG9) is a town on the western edge of Nottingham, in the borough of Broxtowe, between Beeston and the Derbyshire border. Its neighbours Toton, Bramcote and Trowell share the same council and the same rules. It's mainly family housing: long-established terraces and semis near the town centre, and larger homes with good gardens towards Bramcote and Toton. That brings a lot of garden clear-outs, loft and garage sort-outs, and house clearances when people downsize or move. One local catch: Sandiacre, just over the Erewash, is in Derbyshire, so it has completely different bins and tips.
Stapleford households use the Nottinghamshire County Council tips, and the closest is Beeston Recycling Centre on Lilac Grove (NG9 1PF). It's free, but you need to register your vehicle with the county council before your first visit. Hire vans must be cleared with the council at least 24 hours ahead, and from 2 January 2027 every van will need a booked slot. There's also a DIY limit of two 50-litre bags or one item per visit, with no more than four DIY visits a month, and county tips aren't accepting small appliances like microwaves at the moment. Our Beeston tip guide has the opening times and full rules.
Would it take more than one trip? A garage full of boxes, a shed to demolish, or the contents of a whole house won't fit in a car boot, and the tip's DIY limits mean renovation waste gets turned away. A licensed collection takes it all in one go, straight from your drive or garden.
Get free Stapleford quotes →Broxtowe Borough Council charges a £13 booking fee plus £11 per item, so one item is £24 and two are £35. Items have to be left outside, and fridges and freezers must be clean and empty. It's good value for one or two things you can carry out yourself. For anything upstairs, heavy, or more than a few items, a private collection is usually quicker and not much more expensive. Our bulky item guide compares the options.
Broxtowe's brown bin is a paid subscription: £45 for the first bin and £28 for each extra one in 2026/27, collected fortnightly from March to November and monthly over the winter. It's handy for regular mowing, but a big garden overhaul, with hedges cut right back, turf lifted and soil dug out, can fill a bin many times over. A garden waste collection clears it all at once. See our garden waste guide for more.
When a parent moves into care or passes away, the family often has to clear a house that's been lived in for decades. A good clearance company works around you: they set aside anything you want to keep, and handle the furniture, loft and garage contents so you don't have to. If the house is being cleared as part of an estate, get the contents valued before anything goes. Our house clearance guide explains what to expect and what it costs.
Kitchen and bathroom refits produce far more rubble, plasterboard and packaging than the tip will take. A builders' waste collection takes it away in one visit, with no skip on the drive and no permit to arrange. See our builders' waste guide for costs.
Under your household duty of care, you're responsible for your rubbish until it's disposed of properly. If an unlicensed collector fly-tips it, it can be traced back to you. Always check a company's Environment Agency waste carrier licence. Every company we connect you with is licensed and gives you a waste transfer note. Our fly-tipping guide explains how to check.

Garden and garage clear-outs are common here, and they're priced by how much space the waste takes up in the van, so a quick photo helps companies quote accurately. Comparing a few quotes for your actual job is free through us.
